Society Membership

Membership in the Children’s Aid Society of Oxford  is a way for you to become more involved in your community and be informed about the protection, safety and well-being of children and youth in Oxford.

For an annual fee of $4.00 for an individual/business or $5.00 for a family, you  receive the opportunity to:

• Vote and participate at the Annual General Meeting
• Run for a position on our Board of Directors, when vacancies arise
• Receive information and increase awareness of the programs and services of the Society and the needs of the children and families in the county
• Show your support for the ongoing work of the organization
• Receive a membership card and pin

The Society recruits and maintains a membership for the following reasons:

• required under the Corporations Act
• provides a resource pool from which to develop future Directors of the Agency
• avoids any allegations of a closed in-house group which self perpetuates itself in the directing of an important Agency

 More information on membership:

• membership comes under the portfolio of the Public Relations/Nominating Committee. Entitlement to notice of and to vote at a members meeting is only available to memberships bought at least 45 (forty-five) days in advance of any meeting of the members.
• memberships may be purchased at the Society office, through Board and committee members or by requesting an application. This form can be mailed to you or made available via e mail.
